Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
Our commitment
This website was built so that people with disabilities can read it, navigate it and complete a purchase independently. Accessibility is treated as part of the design, not as an add-on.
Standard we work to
The site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, which is also the standard referenced by the Israeli accessibility regulations (Israeli Standard 5568) and by accessibility legislation in many other countries.
What has been implemented
- Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order.
- A "Skip to content" link as the first item on the page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Full keyboard operation — every link, button, menu, accordion and the photo viewer can be reached and used with the keyboard alone. The photo viewer also supports Esc to close and the arrow keys to move between photos, and keeps keyboard focus inside itself while open.
- A clearly visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and interface colours chosen for contrast against the dark background.
- Touch targets on mobile sized for comfortable tapping.
- Respect for the operating-system "reduce motion" setting — when it is enabled, the moving photo rows stop and become ordinary scrollable strips, and the background and reveal animations are switched off.
- The page can be zoomed and the text resized without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
- Video is never set to play automatically; embedded video loads only after you choose to play it.
Known limitations
The book cover artwork and the photographs are supplied images; the text that appears inside a photograph is described in that image's alternative text rather than being selectable text. We are continuing to test the site and to improve it.
